Well the procedure went well, of course holding Christina down in the OR is one of the worst things in the world. But she made it through with no complications. We did decide that next time to use versed, heavy sedation drug, to help make the going to sleep easier and she will forget most of everything that occurs.  After the OR we all went swimming to make part of the day fun.

The trip up there went very well not one tear. I even got pulled over and she did not cry with flashing lights in the back. THe journey home was not so great but at least there was one good way.

Today we filmed the UCP commercial for the Wissota winter classic. Of course Christina wanted Daddy. She is anti mommy since the OR episode and will be for a few days.  Her and Daddy looked very cute.

So we are back to getting back on schedule. Yes I know that is redundant but oh well.  Jan 21 we will find out if Christina will go to school more days during the week.

Off to the cities....

Well we are off to the cities for another round of phenol botox. I am sure all will go just fine but it still is an uneasy feeling. I am sure that the trip up there will be the most painful part of the journey.

Well, lately Christina has been a chatter box and it is so wonderful to hear her voice. She has made huge leaps lately as well as growing. She is 3 feet and 24 lbs. I remember when she was just 2.2 lbs. It seems like yesterday she was just a wee baby. Now she is a big princess. She gets on the  upset side if you call her a baby.

She is doing very well in school and looks forward to going. This year she made Derek and I the best Christmas present ever. A cookie jar with her picture on it and all in her paint job. It is the most beautiful cookie jar ever.

Christina had a great Christmas and of course Santa made a long visit. Speaking of Santa we went again this year to see him at the mall and  he remembered Christina by name from last year. She waved and pulled on his beard.  We now have a whole princess town with tunnels and balls and a tinker bell tent too. She just loves to be in there. All the other toys are just better when they are in the tents.

Christina had more pictures done for the UCP event coming up and on Wednesday we will be filming a commercial for the Wissota Winter classic. UCP is going to have her running all year, but very excited about it. We all feel so blessed that Christina was chosen.

I will keep everyone up to date after the surgery or I will have Daddy post something.

Merry Christmas

We wish everyone a very merry Christmas. We are getting ready to open presents. Yippy yippy... more later.

Last night we opened a gift from Christina and it was the most wonderful gift ever. Both of us were in tears.

On a different note phenol botox is scheduled for Jan 5 at 7 am. Thank you UCP for helping out with the hotel stay.

Sorry for lack of updates

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. First of all Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.

Christina was ill and missed a week of school but is better now. No it was not the swine flu. She did however miss school. She was very exited to return this week.  While at school she has been doing great. The tears have stopped and she enjoys her time there. Christina uses her kid cart with no problems. She knows that when she goes to the gym she has to work and she will fuss but gets over it quickly. Mary told me that she is driving a motorized car and loves it. She eats a great snack while there most of the time.

At home she is doing well too. We got a wingbo swing and it is great. It is really hard to explain so if you go to wingbo.com you can see the swing. Anyway it is designed to promote belly time and head extension. She does real well in it. She will pull with her arms and push with her legs. It is so great to watch. The other day she was in it and grabbed shapes out of her cookie jar to hand to me. Lately Christina has been grabbing everything, very happy about that. We have also been working on walking in the gait trainer with no prompts. It is hard for her but is getting the hang of it. When we started it was all tears and now there are none.

The eye appointment went pretty well. No new news. Still can not and will not be able to tell us anything until she can tell us what she can see. I am positive that her vision is getting better and will continue to improve with time.

Phenol botox will be coming up soon again, there is no date yet but will be in December or January. I will keep everyone up to date.

Happy T-Day.

Quick Update

Christina has been sick the last few days. She had quite a fever and achy. Her fever went down and up and is now creeping up a little again. Christina has not been sleeping well at night.

Unfortunately, she had to miss school this week and has not been fond of her stretches. Mommy has been trying to keep her happy and entertained.

Overall, Christina has been in a pretty good mood despite feeling icky. It has been nice for both Angela and I to have some cuddle time with Christina.

Daddy

Snow Biz and more....

Last night Christina and the snow biz committee had their pictures taken. Christina was sitting on the snowmobile with daddy. I was doing clucking for laughter purposes. Anyway to anyone who sees the picture know that all the smiles are laughing at me. It was all worth it though.

Tomorrow Christina is getting her pictures done by herself by Giles for UCP events and to be published. I am hoping that she is up to it and in a great mood. Today she seems under the weather and has a slight fever. So I am not sure if it is the same lingering bug or a new bug.

Friday we are on our way to see doctor Tanaguchi to decide what to do with more phenol botox procedures. I guess we'll find out more Friday.

School is going great for Christina and she really likes to go. She is so exited to tell about her day when I pick her up. Also in the school transition process she has become a daddy's girl 110%. It is now all about daddy. I know that Derek is enjoying this. I on the other hand enjoy it for daddy but miss my little girl.

Today Christina and Crystal and I went to the mall and had lunch. Christina ate very well. We went to the play place nad Christina had a blast. I made Crystal take pictures because when we go I can't take to picts by myself/. Crystal was very impressed with what Christina could do. Weorked on stepping up steps and crawling along with walking. She crawled through the bear tunnel by herself. It was great to see how far we have come since we started going there.

General update

School is going great for Christina. There still needs to be some more work on transition but she loves it. We have been spending time at the mall play place working on social skills, stepping up steps, walking, and crawling. She is doing great. Today at school there were hardly any tears.

Christina has went to see grandma Kar in CCU three times this week and gave her kisses every time. She does hate hospitals and knows when we are at one. I think that she is better now knowing that she does not have to stay and it is not for her.

She is a very strong willed little girl and that's where our behavior problems are coming into play. There is nothing wrong with strong will because that is what got her this far but she needs to know who really is running the house.( Not her) Things are getting better for others such as Daddy and Deb but we still have along way to go. She can turn on the water works at the drop of a hat. It is really funny to watch now. It was not about 5 months ago. I do have to say it is a great feeling to know that we are struggling with the average three year old issues. It is just a little harder given that the communication is not the greatest. We are working on that very hard.

Things are going great. And in the upcoming months look for Christina's picture around the community regarding UCP.

School..... and Pictures

School is going very well for Christina. She is so exited to go, of course she cries when she gets there and is fine as soon as they walk the other way.  She also had her first school pictures taken on Monday. They turned out very well. I was there to help get the pictures and got to choose the ones to use.  She did great.

We are having attitude issues but they are all normal 3 year old issues.

We are very exited to work with UCP. We are sending pictures of Christina to them so they can be used. We will be getting more information soon as to what we are going to be doing. Other than that all is well in the Kademan household.
